Today is the last day of 2011. In fact, there are less than 7 hours left of the year. I’m torn between cheering or whimpering in a corner and blubbering like a baby. 2011 was mostly a very difficult year and I’m glad that it’s almost over. On the other hand, I’m nervous. What if 2012 is worse? …never mind. Just pretend I didn’t say that.
I have to admit, it wasn’t all bad–at least on the writerly side of things. I didn’t do as much as I would’ve liked, but I accomplished one big goal: publish Shadow and Light, so yay!
I did get to go to Universal/Island of Adventure and see the Harry Potter stuff, which was awesome, by the way. (If you haven’t gone, you should plan a trip!)
I will ring in the new year at my desk, writing my next story. It should (hopefully) be published sometime early in 2012. Tomorrow, I might put up a list of goals for the year, but I haven’t decided yet. I guess we’ll see tomorrow, won’t we?
So, how about y’all? Was 2011 good, bad, or somewhere in between? Are you looking forward to 2012, or are you going to hide in a corner with me?
Lanie is signing off and getting back to work. Until next year, people! Happy New Year. Wishing you all a safe and wonderful evening. I hope 2012 brings you joy. May you all accomplish your goals, read lots of awesome books, and have a ton of fun.
